Some Of Our Clients
Universities
We work collaboratively with many universities, including joint grant applications, early stage proof of principle work, commercialisation advice, innovation clinics and taking spin-out products to market. We have in-depth experience working with academics, tech transfer offices, commercialising teams, venture capitalists / business angels and institutions (such as the NHS) to guide early stage innovations through to market leading solutions. Working with universities often requires a unique approach to maximise limited budgets, work with distributed teams and support deliverables for additional funding.
Maddison’s Development Director, Patrick Hall, is MedTech Designer in Residence at Oxford University, based at the IBME, Old Road Campus. This role spans the university departments and institutions, including the tech transfer office IOU. Patrick provides ongoing support to a range of academic start-ups, running regular design clinics and innovation workshops.

Start-ups and SMEs
We understand the critical success factors for start-ups and SMEs. We align our goals with theirs to ensure a true team approach. We focus on early risk reduction, core user and market needs definition and real innovation to excite the market. We advise on careful research and development spending to ensure, as a team, we target the real value-added activity to maximise the chances of success. Together with our network of partners for software and electronics, IP and regulatory consultancy, test houses, market assessment and international manufacturers, we offer a turnkey service from idea through to finished product on the market.

Corporates
We have worked with many international names, providing fast, creative solutions to generate real excitement for new or existing product portfolios. We often provide research services, technology scouting, in-depth usability studies, brainstorming workshops and concept generation as well as complete product development. We are used to working to corporate R&D milestones and stage-gates but can also provide a more flexible and faster innovation service.
