Maddison challenge was to ensure a secure of the SurePulse VS heart rate sensor to the baby’s head without it moving, this was made more difficult as some premature babies heads are smaller than an Orange! The solution was a soft disposable cap securing a reusable sensor module. The sensor module is wireless to facilitate skin to skin, mother to baby contact, while still providing accurate data to the clinician. To aid adoption the cap was developed with clinicians to ensure it was intuitive to use and fitted within current clinical practice.
