Effective design raises the bottom line
Raymond Lowey, the famous father of design once said, "The most beautiful curve is a rising sales graph." Maddison created Clickpak™ for Nelsons 20 years ago. Its enduring presence on shop floor shelves, coupled with its recognition through multiple awards, attests to its exceptional design. Crucially, it remains a driving force behind sustained profitability.
Nelsons Clikpak was awarded the prestigious DBA Design Effectiveness Award given for providing unrivaled evidence of the integral role design plays in transforming businesses.
Complex made simple
The challenge was to design a low-cost, user-friendly dispensing container that could maintain the pills' integrity for a longer shelf life, a task difficult to achieve with typical containers. Maddison explored multiple design concepts before settling on a solution involving a conical tube combined with a dropper. The design underwent optimization through a series of prototype tests to enhance the sample harvesting and dispensing mechanism.
From Concept to Production
In the design for manufacture stage, Maddison worked closely with manufacturers to select the best materials and optimise tolerances and tooling to ensure a highly repeatable manufacturing result, continually working to create a low unit-cost solution.
Maddison was awarded a wood pencil at the D&AD awards, the most prestigious benchmark for creative excellence in design and advertising. Each year, the D&AD Awards gather the world's best creative work from across the commercial design, advertising, production judged by more than 400 global creative leaders, practitioners and innovators.
The wood pencil represents the very best of design.
